Types of Bets in French Roulette

The bets used in French roulette are more complex compared to the European and American forms. The first bet is called the dozen where you are supposed to bet on a consecutive series of 12 numbers that are given on the wheel. This means you can bet on 1-12, 13-24 and 24-36. Zero is not included in this type of bet.

The column bet is another one you can also use for French roulette. In this case, you can only bet on the numbers that are on the roulette wheel’s vertical column. This means that for each player in the game, there are 3 columns with 12 numbers each. You can also bet on numbers that are outside the column.

With the square bet in French roulette, you can bet on any 4 numbers that form a square pattern. You can place your chips on the horizontal or vertical intersections.
